Gautam is Senior Partner and head of Maritime practice in the Firm and his areas of expertise include offshore, maritime and shipping, insurance,environment, dispute resolution and ADR. Gautam has graduated from University of Goa and is a registered Solicitor with the Law Society of England and Wales.

During his professional career, Gautam has acted for several prestigious clients including international banks, ship owners and charterers, cargo interests, insurers and P&I clubs etc. He regularly advises on disputes pertaining to mortgage claims, marine insurance, bills of lading, charter parties, ship building & ship repair contracts, collision & limitation of liability, salvage, general average and marine pollution and has represented several multinational and reputed domestic clients on complex maritime and off-shore projects. Gautam’s admiralty practice includes both dry and wet shipping.

Gautam also handles board spectrum of commercial/civil litigation matters which include, construction and engineering, environment, education, power and restructuring and insolvency etc. across various Courts viz; High Courts and the Supreme Court of India.

In addition to his extensive litigation practice, Gautam also specializes in both domestic and international commercial arbitration. Over the past several years, Gautam has represented numerous clients in complex commercial disputes in relation to EPC contracts, infrastructure and construction, etc. -under the auspices of major arbitral institutions including the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), London Maritime Arbitration Association (LMAA), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA). He is also a member of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) and Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA) to name a few.
